More than 60 young people in the age between 13 and 17 years from France, Spain, Italy, Poland and Germany came together from the 6th to the 16th of August in 2018 on the grounds of the Kulturkosmos Müritz e.V.. The project focused on combining an actual social policy topic with cultural education and expression.

The title of this year was:
ART CAMP 2018 – HISTORY PRESENT FUTURE – discovering the effects of colonialism
In the focus of the examination was the question of the impacts of colonial history on the global north – especially the European continent – and the global south in the present and in the future. With this background the participants could sharpen their awareness of reproduction of inequality in European society. The goal was creating a consciousness of global connectivities to help understand them better.
Varied methods of informal education were utilized to address this content. The cooperation between the workshops of theater, media, music and art produced enabled the adaptation through a collective creative process which finalized in a common performance. This also served as a way to strengthen the cultural expression of the young people involved.
Through the intensive cooperation on a common performance with different cultural practices and diverse possibilities of exchange the participants could get to know each other very well.
In addition many leisure activities such as swimming, singing and dancing framed the content-related activities. The results of the workshops were presented to youths, parents and other interested people of the region.

Über 60 Jugendliche im Alter von 13 bis 17 Jahren mit dem Lebensmittelpunkt in Frankreich, Spanien, Italien, Polen und Deutschland fanden sich in Lärz auf dem Gelände des Kulturkosmos Müritz e.V. in der Zeit vom 06.0.8-16.08.2018 zusammen.Im Zentrum des Projektes stand, ein gesellschaftspolitisches Thema mit kulturellen Bildung und Ausdrucksformen zu verknüpfen.

ART CAMP 2018 – HISTORY PRESENT FUTRUE – discovering effects of colonialism
Im Rahmen der Maßnahme stand die Frage im Mittelpunkt, inwieweit die Kolonialgeschichte Auswirkungen auf den globalen Norden – europäischer Kontinent – und den globalen Süden in Gegenwart und Zukunft hat. Vor diesem Hintergrund ging es um eine Schärfung des Blicks der Teilnehmer*innen auf aktuelle Reproduktionen von Ungleichheit in der europäischen Gesellschaft. Ziel war es, Elemente eines Bewusstseins für globale Zusammenhänge zu schaffen und die Teilnehmer*innen ein Stück weit zu befähigen, komplexe globale Zusammenhänge besser zu verstehen.
Die thematische Auseinandersetzung wurde mit vielfältigen Methoden der non-formalen Bildung umgesetzt. Neben der inhaltlichen Bearbeitung des Themas wurde in theater-, medien-, musik- und kunstpädagogischen Workshops im Rahmen einer gemeinschaftlich kreativen Auseinandersetzung eine Theaterperformance zum Thema erarbeitet. In dem Zusammenhang wurden kulturelle Ausdrucksformen von Jugendlichen gestärkt.
Durch die intensive Zusammenarbeit an einem gemeinsamen Theaterstück mit unterschiedlichen kulturellen Praktiken ergaben sich vielfaltige Formen des non-formalen Lernens und Möglichkeiten des Austauschs, bei denen sich die Jugendlichen sehr gut kennenlernen konnten.
Darüber hinaus wurden viele Freizeitaktivitäten angeboten, die die thematische und kreative Auseinandersetzung umrahmten. Das Ergebnis der Workshops wurde am Ende der Begegnung vor Jugendlichen, Eltern und interessierten Menschen aus der Region präsentiert.
